NSCS Meeting Minutes
November 2, 2006

Opening:

The regular meeting of NSCS was called to order at 5:30 p.m. on November, 2006 in room 201 in Rarick Hall

1. Road Trip Nation: To help promote Road Trip Nation and earn points for our chapter we will be handing out pins, bumper stickers, postcards and hanging up posters around campus announcing our campus wide viewing. For more information visit: www.roadtripnation.com/pbs. So, spread the word about Road Trip Nation on PBS! We will have a showing of the trailer in Cody Commons sometime this month. Watch your e-mail and facebook for more information.

2. Community Service:
A. Make a Difference Day: Was held on October 28th. Thank you to all those who participated.
B. November Service Project: We are planning on adopting a family to feed for Thanksgiving.
C. December Service Project: Members were asked for input on what type of service activity they would like to do for December. A shoe box for kids or the angel tree were the ideas suggested.

3. Christmas Party: At our December meeting we will have a party! We will have a white elephant gift exchange. We would like this to be more of a fun activity, one where you do not need to go buy a gift. An example of a gift would be a used candle. Let’s make it fun! Also, please bring something small to eat or drink, ex: snacks, pop etc to help liven up the festivities! Bring a friend if you want too!

4. Elections: We will also be holding elections for next year’s executive staff at the December meeting. The early elections are so new officers can transition with the current officers.

5. PFCS! We have a partner school!!! We will be pairing with Kennedy Middle School. We will select a day to start and the principal will contact us with what activities / classes etc. they want our help with. If you are interested in volunteering for PFCS please let us know!

The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m. The next general meeting will be at 5:30 on December 7, 2006. It will be held in room 201 in Rarick Hall! Be sure to attend and bring a friend!!!
