Opening:
The regular meeting of NSCS was called to order at 5:30 p.m. on October 5, 2006 in room 201 in Rarick Hall.

1. Ice Breaker: We did an ice breaker activity to get everyone involved.

2. Pizza: Pizza was donated for the meeting by Papa Johns. A thank-you will be sent to them for their generous contribution.

3. Active member participation program:
a. Rules:
1. Members must sign in at events for documentation records.
2. An Active Member is someone who attends/participates in 50% or more of chapter meetings, activities, and events.
3. Point allotment:
1. 3 points Attend a chapter meeting
2. 3 points Attend a social function
3. 3 points Participate in Spirit Week
4. 3 points Wear NSCS paraphernalia to meetings
5. 5 points/hour Volunteer or mentor at a PFCS event
6. 3 points/hour Volunteer at a chapter service event
7. 5 points Participate at induction
8. 5 points Represent NSCS at a campus function
9. 2 points Bring a friend to an NSCS event or meeting

4. Road Trip Nation:
To help promote Road Trip Nation and earn points for our chapter we will be handing out pins, bumper stickers, postcards and hanging up posters around campus announcing our campus wide viewing. For more information visit: www.roadtripnation.com/pbs

5. Take a Campus Leader to Lunch: It was decided we would take our Distinguished Member, Justin Greenleaf out to eat. We are planning on going out to eat Pizza. We will be going on Tuesday, October 17 at 6:00 pm. All members are invited to attend.

6. Planning for College Success (PFCS)
a. Step 1: Find a partner school. Our new VP of PFCS, Adrienne, will be contacting Kenney and Felten Middle Schools to see if either are interested in establishing a PFCS partnership with us.
b. Step 2: Begin finding volunteers. After forming a partnership we will assess the need for volunteers and begin recruiting.

7. NSCS DAY: Thursday, October 12th will be NSCS day. Any member who is spotted wearing NSCS gear will receive candy.

8. Make a Difference Day: Is coming up on October 28th and 29th. Make sure to put this date on your calendar!

9. Freedom Walk: All members who participated in the Freedom Walk please sign the roster.

10. Reminder: The deadline for the Scholar Abroad/Scholar at Sea application is October 16 for anyone wishing to apply.

Door Prizes (NSCS integrity bands) were given out!

The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m. The next general meeting will be at 5:30 on November 2, 2006. It will be held in room 201 in Rarick Hall! Be sure to attend and bring a friend!!!
